Title: FOOT PEG PROBLEMS WARNING!
Post by: penton117 on April 16, 2003, 04:31:25 PM
Hi Guys. I thought I would let you all know about a problem I recently had so that it won't happen to you. The right footpeg on my 1972 125cc Penton broke during a race last weekend. It is the original part, which is basically two pieces of steel channel, spot welded together. On my bike the spot welds broke and the whole top part of the peg came off during a race, leaving only a short, smooth stub sticking out for my boot. NOT GOOD! Anyway, you might want to check your pegs or better yet, have a full length bead welded across instead of the two or three little spot welds.

penton117,
Karl makes a peg that Al has in stock that would hold up better than even a welded up stock one for MX.
i never had a stock one break but that just trail rideing and enduros. no big jumps.
