Title: 72 Berkshire 100 swing arm bushings
Post by: swamp fox on April 23, 2003, 01:30:15 PM
Looking through the forum, I saw where some swingarm bushings were being made by Dom. Have these been finished and how can I get them?

John,
I just heard from Dom and he said he was about to send you one for testing. I told him I would be interested in how the process evolves.

Good news Robert,
thanks for the update. I sent Dom an e-mail last night asking how things are going. we will put the new bushings when we get them in the sachs 175 and test them out. we have a chance at a 100 mile ride at the end of the month in Tally with Rick G. and a 2 day dual sport ride in Sept. we let you know how they work and whats involved.

Glad the bushings are going to happen but go figure.  I send Dom a NOS bushing for a sample to make these and then John gets the first ones to try out.  John, when you talk to Dom find out when I can get my sample back so I have a set.

Hi Larry,
I'll keep you in mind for the bushings if these don't work out. I have talked to Doug about working on my motor and getting it shimmed out correctly since I don't have access to the depth gauges.

Ok Dom, is about to make the first run of swing arm bushings.
looks like they will be made of Bronze.
We have an option of keeping the old outer sleeve from the orignal bushing and usein it for the new nearing to mate against or use the swing arm pivot point.
 what would everyone perfere?
my thinking is the the old outer sleeve could be replaced if it wears , at some later date with a new sleeve. that would be my choice. everone conserned please provide input. Dom is about to make up the first run this week.
