Title: Piston arrows
Post by: [email protected] on May 08, 2003, 04:24:38 PM
Just put a new piston in my 125B (nos Mahle)
the arrow that usually faces the exhaust side was pointed parallel to the wrist pin.I have not encountered that before.I installed the piston with the ring pins to the back and it runs ok,is there any difference directionally as most motors have?, and if so why did the arrow not point to the front?

The ring locating pins should be towards the rear of the cylinder. As to why the arrow is positioned incorrectly. Hans and Frans probably had to many cold ones at lunch that day. Germans love their beer!

Gavin, you are completely wrong. Not about the arrow but the dudes that made the error. It's Heinz and Franz of course :-)
