Title: 72 Jackpiner Carb
Post by: imported_n/a on February 21, 2001, 05:04:37 PM
I'm trying to determine which is the correct carb for a 72 Jackpiner. Both of mine came w/o stock carbs. The early 72 came with an intake manifold that looks like it has a hose placed between it and the carb (no carb came with the bike). The late 72 came with a mikuni setup so I'm not sure what the original carb was. From what I can tell some came w/ Bings and others with Amals. Can anyone help out.
Thanks
Gary

My 1972 Penton sales flyer lists the 30mm Amal as the carb for the Jackpiner.

I own a 72 Jackpiner and it has a 30mm Amal and appears to be original. It is a flange mount and bolts to the intake manifold with 2 bolts. What you have with the rubber sleeve is probably the original setup for a Bing.

Whether 72's ever came stock with Bings is a good question.
