Hi John,
I have finished my "honey do" sandblast for my inlaws wrought iron gate and will be hitting my frame next. Dr. Doug has transplanted new life into "Sachsy" and she is due for delivery today! I'll keep an eye out for your test results and hope all goes well.

We just recieved the new bushing.
looks like they will work fine . i may have to add a washer between the engine mount and the swing arm/bushing.
you can go here to see a picture of the bushing and one with all the stock parts and measurements.
Let us know what you think folks.

John;
The new bushing looks very nice. Will it fit the steel tank swingarms?

I dont think so Richard,
i believe the cmf frames use a bigger swing arm pivot bolt and the od on the steel tank bushings is smaller. if you can give Dom the specs i bet he could make some up for you that will work.

Yes, John I will probably want a couple sets for myself also.

Dwight,
just posted Dom a note asking about ones for the steel tankers. someone with a steel tanker would have to help with the measurements for him i think.
You or Mark would be the most likely to be able to do that i think. it would help a lot if someone has an NOS bushing to measure along with all the measurements you see we did on the swing arm.

Doug W. may even have a NOS set for the Steel Tankers. Kip Kern may also. Lets check with them.

John,
Just checking how the swingarm bushing test is going. I sent you an email and wasn't sure if you got it. I'm sure you're getting ready for Mid-Ohio and are plenty busy.
I'll wait to hear from you.
Thanks.

I have a NOS set for CMF and Steel Tank.  Let me know if I need to bring them to Mid Ohio.

Hi Kip,
Unfortunately I couldn't get my vacation time right and can't make it to Mid-Ohio. I really wish I could, and be able to meet all the great folks that have given their time and information to help me get my old Berkshire running again. If I can't get with John and Dom on the retrofit bushings, I'll keep you in mind.

Robert,
Sorry to be so slow in answering your question. We have been working from 7am till after 12 pm the last few weeks.
I need to take some more pictures and measure several other points for Dom.
We did a trial fit of the new bushings on a swing arm and came up with some questions on the side load of the swing arm causing excessive wear on the bushings.
Dom needs me to do some measuring and take some pictures to resolve the issue.
We will try and do the pictures in the morning, if i dont work to late and get them scanned and sent off to Dom.

John,
Not a problem. I'm still a little bit away from installation anyway. Thanks for your assistance.

John,

What were the final results with the swingarm bushings?  Did the work, are they available & for what models?

Thanks,

Tony

The results to the best of my knowledge was I lost a set of NOS bushings I never got back and I don't think there was ever a production run of the bushings or the swingarms both of which were supposed to happen.  Live and learn.
