Title: '73 Hare Scrambler Paint Code
Post by: davidb51 on June 20, 2003, 07:47:03 AM
I recently bought a '73 Hare Scrambler, that the original owner "upgraded" the color from yellow/gold to red.  Does anyone have a reference paint code that matches the '73 250 yellow/gold color?

David, I looked for awhile for the right yellow or something close. Most paint stores carry few yellows, mostly "school bus yellow" which pretty well stinks. I finally settled on a Tamiya brand acrylic hobby paint in Camel Yellow (#T34). Costs about $6 for a dinky 3oz rattle can, but seems to be really good paint--makes the best high gloss finish I've seen from a  garage spray paint job. Only place I could find it was on-line hobby stores, try a Yahoo search for Tamiya Paint. Took almost 4 cans to do the tank and side panels, you might need a bit more if you're not starting on a yellow base color. I think you won't be dissappointed. Good luck...Jon
