Title: 400 crank weights
Post by: Bill Campbell on August 06, 2003, 04:39:14 AM
I forgot to record which hex screw, that bolt the add on crank weights, goes where. There are five short ones, one medium and two long bolts. Can anyone tell me their correct positions? Thank you

My parts book says they are all supposed to be 12mm long. You are not only supposed to Locktite the bolts but also put locktite on the underside of the flyrings too. Do you have a engine rebuilding book?

Mike, thanks for the reply. My mate from here downunder directed me to the article in one of the SKT on cranks which has that information. I do have enough of the engine manual lying about the shed thanks. I was wondering if the different lengths were due to some holes not being drilled right through the crank wheel. Maybe they were used to balance the crank - not sure . Bill
