Title: 35mm for tube for removal & swingarm lube
Post by: jj on August 09, 2003, 11:56:20 AM
On a '73 thru '75 35mm front suspension. How do I remove the fork tubes from the top triple clamp?

On a '73 on up swingarm. What should I use for lube? I was going to gease it, then I remember reading somewhere that the 2 small bolts on top were called oil filler bolts.

To remove the forks-I always removed the allen head screws. There is a slot in the clamps where you could lightly pry. I never had to. (oops-remove the fork caps-counterclockwise first). Then the legs should twist out. I usually sprayed some wd-40 between the fork leg and clamp to cheat it a bit.

The bolts on the swingarm are for lube. I used a light synthetic oil in it-but I could be wrong. Thanks, James

I have bike parts in the kitchen cabinets where most people have dishes..

JJ remove both 10mm bots on the swing arm. Add gear oil, high viscosity engine oil till full. Both bolts need to be out when filling swing arm. So no vacuum is created. Hope this will help.

Also, the Ceriani forks are tapered and go out the bottom of the triple clamp.  They can not go up.
