Title: PVL Testing
Post by: imported_n/a on September 27, 2003, 08:03:10 PM
Will Penton Imports take an ignition for testing from an individual?  I know they won't sell directly, but I hope I don't have to go through a shop for testing.

The have been helpful on PVL and Motoplat testing.  They can also re-magnatise your flywheel if needed.

George, give Dane Leimbach a call at Penton Imports to arrange for testing.  You may not want to hear your Motoplat is dead or weak, but prepare yourself for it.

Glenn,

Its not a Motoplat, it is a PVL that is having problems.  The stator fails the resistance test outlined on Penton Imports web site.  I am prepared for the worst.

It is good to know that I don't have to go through a dealer for testing.

Sounds bad!  Give Dane a call.

Actually it turned out fine.  While removing the stator, I noticed that one of the wires felt funny.  After splitting the harness the wire turned out to be broken.  After splicing the wire the Deek fired right up.
