Title: AHRMA's "vintage sunset" rule proposal
Post by: rob w on September 27, 2003, 11:50:06 PM
Maybe to some this is old news, but it's new to me.
As talked about here some months back, AHRMA had made a rule proposal this summer to possibly eliminate allowing 1975 machines that are like-1974 in design from competing in "Sportsman" class MX.

That would of affected myself and everyone else that rides a 1975 KTM powered Penton, and made these bikes almost absolete in MX. (they would not be that competitive in the Post Vintage, Historic class)

Well...good news, it ain't gonna happen, to shorten up a longer story, it says "the vintage sunset plan will be shelved and no additional post-1974 machines will be added to the Sportsman eligibility list"

I'm :) about that!

Bob, thanks for the update.  This proposal would have received VERY STIFF opposition if it was moving forward.
