Title: Penton results at ISDTRR
Post by: Big Mac on October 13, 2003, 07:27:54 PM
I didn't get a chance to make it across the country to the reunion ride to actually see what the heroes were riding, but I'm confused by the results per the posting now up at Reunionride.com:

Class: 17 Vintage Classic, EX
106 Jeff Penton  OH  KTM  Gold

I assume Classic means pre-70(?). So where does a guy named Penton find a pre-70 "KTM" machine? Did he import a Euro branded Penton, or too modest to list bike as Penton, or? Just curious.

Must have been a typo. Jeff rode a 1973 125 PENTON six-days. And it was a beautiful thing to see.

Classic is any Sach B powered bike to 1974.
Jeff was riding a 1972 Six Day 125. He had previously entered on a 200 KTM but changed classes. That is why he has a Modern ISDT VET number.

Rokon Ron has just uploaded the latest (final) scoring results to the Reunionride site.  Have a look, some things have changed.  Kip Kern and I have both been upgraded to silver :-)
