Title: 69 sachs motor, how many gears?
Post by: mike carr on October 23, 2003, 11:37:02 PM
I was wondering if somebody could tell me how many gears my 69 sachs motor should have, if it should have five, then i am in trouble.
The case says 125/5A, of course it might not be the orignal case, but anyway i only count four gears, I thought that the 5A meant it was a five speed.
The full ser. no. reads 6319997,Thank you for any help,
Mike Carr Oly.Wash.

1251/5a = FIVE GEARS !  You may just need adjusting.

The inside selector boss will only have 4 notches which will give you 5 gears.   Make sure it is shimmed to level with the engine case.[8)]
