Title: in need of a Sach's mechanic
Post by: jerry on November 10, 2003, 01:04:49 PM
who can I have go through my 1973 Sachs 125 engine? I don't know the history of it, it ran when I picked it up but I want someone who is a lot more skilled than I to go through it. I live in SC and don't have a source around here. The block has a small mangled area of about 1/2" x 2 where I assume the chain ate it up. Not sure if the block will have to be replaced or not. Thanks. Jerry

Jerry,
I sent my engine to Doug Wilford for a rebuild. He is listed in the POG newsletter in the services and his email you can get from the members page online. Mine had been torn down 30yrs ago, and I found some parts that I needed and had him re-assemble everything, just in case I forgot how I took it apart. For shipping, it fits neatly into an Igloo cooler called the "cube". Mine came back so nice looking, I'm having to make the rest of the bike look equally as nice!
