Has anyone here brought a bike into the states from Canada? Is a noterized bill of sale all I need? And what about import duty?

I bought a 03 motocrosser last year in Montreal. I had to have the bill of sale stamped for export from Canada to the US. You do this at the border. When crossing into the States delare the bike and if it is under 650cc's you should not have to pay duty. The border patrol looked it up and I did not have to pay any duty. I was on my way in 20 minutes.
