Title: 1974 Penton 250 Scrambler
Post by: yamahawr250f on November 26, 2003, 12:24:33 PM
Well I am in.  Got my FIRST Penton last week from W.Burmeister who did a wonderful resto. job on her.  My question is on the tank, there are two rubber covered (springed) straps holding the tank on, is this correct or should there be something under the bands to protect the paint?  I am a newbie to Pentontonia, are there any sites, litereature
or anyother type of info. on what these bikes looked like origanally?

Hi,
Those straps are correct for 74-75 models although some came with the tank belt instead.  The ones with the straps also had a metal collar around the filler neck that held them in place.
