Title: 400 tank strap
Post by: farmer58za on December 23, 2003, 03:00:24 PM
Hi guys
I've just re-fitted the stock tank on my '75 400 GS. the tank strap had been stretched over a Malcolm Smith camel tank and it seems too long now. I've made a plan for the present by doubling the straps and tying the loops with ty-raps. can someone take a scan/photostat of their stock strap and email/fax it over here? I can get one made up at the local saddle shop. fax no +27 11 465 9161
e-mail  [email protected]

thanks in advance

David, I've traced round a new strap, and will fax it to you tomorrow. I have also emailed some photos to you direct. Looks like an easy job for a saddlemaker.
Good luck!

From my experience, sometimes a fax is not received the original size it was sent. But I'm sure you'll measure and double check anyway.

What I'll do is lie the original (stretched) one over the template and check it out.
