Thomas,
If no one has repainted with this color I think I can borrow a NOS side cover(that I just sold) and have it coded. E-mail me directly next week.

Hey guys,
I own a 76 MC5 250 also.  Any chance you could post your results on the board?  Thanks.

Am I correct that in 1976 the 250gs also came red with yellow number plates with a straight penton stripe instead of the over the tank stripe?

Try looking in the Links section, drill down to 70's Penton photos, you might get an idea on paint /decal schemes.....

I would say yes, it is posssible to have a 76 250 with a red tank and Penton stripe on the tank.  I sold one like that to Heinz Raidel a couple years ago that I believe was a 76. It had straight leg Cerrani forks with rib on the front.  The tank was an aftermarket aluminum, but the airbox was red and having the ribbed slider forks puts it in a narrow category which I believe to be early 76 models.

Thomas,
Ok I'm back in Houston now.  Let's go forward on this.

1)  Do you want the color code for the orange?

2)  Do you now want the color code for the red also?

3)  I'm trying to obtain a NOS orange part this week for #1.

4)  Red will have to wait till I go back out to my shop.

5)  Rim I haven't caught up with the person to see if he had a spool/rim combo for my 125.  If you run across one let me know.  No hurry.

Still waiting to "hear" about Red...was wondering if Porsche Guards Red would be close, once did a Bully Sherpa and did turn out ok..but that was a Bultaco and Not a Penton
