Title: 1977 GS 400 Carb
Post by: mike mayea on January 11, 2004, 11:09:32 PM
I am looking for information on carburators for a 77 GS 400.  Mine has a Lectron but I don't think it is origional. I have a new corb boot, but it does not fit. I have several carburators, but the only one that fits is one off a Husky with the split throat.

The bike is near perfect and all origional and I would like to keep it that way.

Can anyone help me?  Thanks

Mike.....First let me welcome you to the Penton Owner's Group.

I have a 1977 Penton 400 GS6 that I bought new. It came with a 38mm Bing Carb. They aren't too hard to find and parts are still availabe. Let me know if I can help.

I have a 77 GS6 175 that I bought from the original owner and that came with the Lectron.  I have heard that they could come through with Bing's or Lectron's.  Probably either one would be correct.  Anybody know forsure?

Mike
I think Al Buehner has boots to fit the Lectron carbs. If it were my bike I'd leave the Lectron on it. Al's contact details are listed on the POG pages.

Good luck
