Title: Bing Nomenclature
Post by: AndyL on February 04, 2004, 09:34:49 AM
I know this is probably VERY basic stuff, but I have limited experiance with the Bings. What do the numbers mean?

Or more to the point; What would be the difference between a Bing 54/38/120 and a Bing 54/36/114?

Thanks,
AndyL

Andy.....someone will have to verify this but, in your first example, the 54 is the type and the 38 is the size in mm. I'm unsure about the 120.

Below is the bing web address. They are very helpful and can answer all your questions.

Steve,
Thanks for the link and the info.  One is a 38mm and the other is a 36mm.  Seems kinda obvious now.

The folks at the Bing Agency helped me out. Looks like I need a new slide (kinda pricey) to make one carb usable.

Perhaps spigot mount VS clamp mount, and other intracacies, like not all 38mm carbs have the same slide diameter, please report your facts of findings when you get them....Thanks
