Maybe  someone can help? Have a 1979 250 that has the the single ring piston, will the twin ring piston work in the 1979 cyld?  If  not  I have nos pistons to maybe trade. thanks Mr. Good[?]

I would say there would be no problem with using the 2 ring piston.  Make sure that the ring end pins are not exposed to a port and it should work fine.
