Title: Reed Valve
Post by: tmc3c on February 19, 2004, 06:59:42 AM
How many reed valve set ups did Penton use for the 74 250 motor? I know that we have been talking about the GEM system but what is the difference between that system and the 6 fingered reed system that I have got? The reeds on mine measure in width 1 7/8" x 1 5/16 long and have 3 petals per side. It does not appear to be a after market set up.I have Al checking on some reeds, I talked to Boyesen yesterday and they could not help me on reeds and the tech guys had already gone home.I don' see anything on this in my manuals. Any Ideas??

I am learning more and more from this group, I talked to Al again and come to find out that I have a 1982 cyl. on my 1974 motor, with me now knowing this Boyesen hooked me up with a dual stage reeds. 76gs250 with 1974 250motor with a 82 cyl. talk about a mixed bag! I guess original just took a back seat!![8)]
