Title: 77 125 GS6
Post by: Steve Minor on March 29, 2004, 10:43:14 AM
I just picked up a 1977 125 GS6 "project". It's a complete roller...motor isn't stuck, it has good spark and the transmission shifts....probably needs rings.

Anyone have any comments or opinions about the 77 125 GS6?.....? Pro or Con, I'll appreciate listening to them all.

Steve,
Get rid of it quick! I may know how to properly dispose of such a monstrosity.
Seriously, good luck with your new project.  I've heard different things about the motor, but Mike Lenz said it's basically the same motor as the 175 and there were no problems with that. It just wasn't that popular.  Funny.....it seemed like EVERYBODY had a 73/74 Six Day but I don't remember seeing many of the '77s.
Good Luck and.......GO PENTON!

That's one reason I bought it.....because I haven't seen many 77 125 GS6's either. I have a 77 400 GS6 and those are pretty common. I thought the 125 might be a cute "lil brother" to the 400. PLUS, my wife is starting to show interest in riding and what better bike than a Penton to start her out on? Right?
