Post by: adrian_goold on May 10, 2004, 08:10:28 AM
What will i need other than the drum and shift forks for my '73 175.

Adrian, I have done that conversion to two different motors with sucess. As long as you have it apart, might be a good idea to check the squareness of the shift forks with a v-block, happy wrenching!!!

The only little thing else is the shift drum locater which is different and plastic on the 74 engines.

Shift drum locator either plastic or steel, check the distance between the ratchet pawl inner surfaces.  Not to exceed 54.8mm or needs to be replaced, don't need those missed shifts;)
