Hi for a discussion Im restoring a 73 six day and my grampa was a top engeneer for fox body co. He made some crome motcyle fenders and my dad ceep them and now Im puting them on my six day. Do you guys think that it look bad or would it be ok to put them on because im going to sell it and I want it to look origanl. I see other bikes like it with crome fenders. what do you guys think?
Thanks:
Travis
My, my my...What a "vocabulary" you have...could you please "help us out"...
Who are you?, and what are you trying to accomplish?...The Penton Owners Group has come across many things, but none the likes of you...
But, we are always "willing to help"...so please, if you will, help us out....Thanks....[8]
Racer;
That was not a proper responce. I would suggest an apology. We are all here as family and if you were my son, I would light up your ass!
Tom,
I do think that was a rude post to that young man!

Travis,
It would depend on how close the chrome fenders matched the orignal aluminum ones that came on the 1972 models.
Do you have a picture of the fenders we could look at?
Maybe someone can post a picture of the 72 model so Travis can see what the stock ones look like and decide for himself.
I can scan a picture and send it to you e-mail . Travis if you need any help at all with your Six-Day e- mail me at
[email protected] my son an I would be honored to help you in any way.

If you go to the Photo page on this site, and then to AMA days 2004, on about the 4th page of photos my 72 6-day is pictured there. Should be the first couple pictures. You can click on the picture to enlarge it. Come to Mid-Ohio for vintage days in July and see it in person, you'll have a great time.

well what a surprise, I never realized my 1972 six day had steel fenders. goes to show, you learn something new every day, thanks ehletra and J Durrill for the excellent color photo. Now I can see where all those wires and cables go around the Carburetor too.
