Title: ebay fraud alert
Post by: Kevin Grimes on July 03, 2004, 11:02:18 PM
Guys,
I received a email from e-bay saying someone was commiting fraud with my account. This letter went on to say I needed to verify my personal info within 48 hours. I smell a rat! I talked to a buddy of mine in California today who also received the same notice. BEWARE!
Anybody else see the same kind of notice?

Kevin,
It was actually in the national news a couple of weeks ago.  Same type of fraud where people call  pretending to be your bank and just want to verify your account.  The email seems really official.

Great post!!! Has happened to me and others, under the guise from PayPal.....Paypal wants to know about suspicious emails into client data....you can report to: [email protected], Ebay also has several topics for this discussion in their "security" center link....

I had the same thing happen with a Major Credit Card company via email.  I wonder why folks are always trying to con someone?[V]  It seems easier to work a normal job and focus on friends and family[^]
