Title: Petcock rubber replacement 1968-1971
Post by: t20sl on July 04, 2004, 07:43:04 AM
Has anyone ran into this:  The replacement rubber washer that has 3 holes in it doesn't stay put in the petcock.  It rotates sometimes with the petcock lever.  The OEM item had raised areas around each hole to keep in in place but the replacements like Al sells are completely flat, and have nothing to keep them centered over the holes.  Replacements are black and OEMS are opaque/yellow/clear.  Could make bike run out of gas.  anyone have some OEMs???

I bought new replacements (entire fuel cock assembly) from Domiracer.  They are compatable to modern fuel and I only use them on my rider.

Al B has the rebuild kits for the petcocks. they work great and are about $3.50 each.

John:  Thoses are the ones that I have and there is nothing to locate them.  Originals were not flat but had raised lips around each of the three holes so that when lever is rotated they stay put.
