Getting all worked up on these final days before the trip, and was wondering if anyone has used the Superchips or Hypertech power programmers on their trucks/suv's to increase fuel mileage or torque for towing?

No, but I would love to know if they really work. I am have a 4.6L Ford E150 and am now looking at a 5.4L E150. The 4.6L gets about 16-17mpg without trailer but it drops to 9-10mpg with the 10X6 CargoSport Pace American trailer.

Dwight

I have a 5.4 in my van and have owned it 4 years now with no complaints.  Mileage is 17 in the city and 21/22 on the open road.  I am a "maintenance freak" and change oil and filters quite often.  I have pulled everything from a 12' enclosed trailer to a 24' travel traler with no problems![8D]

Dwight,
I have a '01 Tahoe with a 5.3 and have only pulled the boat around town. I haven't gone on any road trips with it yet.(That is pulling a trailer) I have an old 3 rail Holsclaw bike trailer, and a 20' Pace trailer that I've used as a workshop/bike storage. I haven't pulled it any distance yet, but if I get the programmer, I'll let you know what happens.
