Title: Kill Switch?
Post by: celcius232 on July 13, 2004, 02:29:35 PM
What is the correct method to connect a Magura ground type kill switch to a '72 125 Six Days with a Motoplat?  Thanks.  Brian

Brian,
What color wires run from the motoplat to the coil?
We have some wireing diagrams in the library and i can scan some others if they would do for you.

Brian,

With all Motoplats, the correct method of killing it, is to ground the capacitor charge before it gets to the CDI circuit. To do this, tap into the BLUE wire from the generator, and when you want to kill the engine, ground the tap. NEVER do this with the BLACK wire from the generator, as this is the trigger circuit, and it will result in loading the capacitor charge circuit, and will eventually kill the ignition, instead of the engine.
