Title: Penton featured in American Motorcyclist
Post by: Paul Danik on June 09, 2001, 07:02:01 AM
The July 2001 issue of American Motorcyclist  has a Penton owned by Kip Kern featured on the Classics page. Hats off to Kip for having his fine work featured. The article also tells of Kip's first contact with John Penton, quite an interesting story.

Isn't that a great article. Fitting for the mark.

What year did the radial-finned head appear. I have a 125 that looks almost like Kip's, but radial finned head. Is mine a 71?

The aluminum radial head appeared in 1970.  The cylinder on my "69" is cast iron with a military "small" radial head for the 152cc hop up!  Thanks all for the kind words, I was surprised to have the AMA call and feature my bike in their fine magazine!
