Hi David,In Summer 2002 issue #15 of "STILL KEEPING TRACK" Kent Knudson says that Boyesen has our reeds and I have bought a set from them for my 1976 Penton 250.    1-800-441-1171 part # BULT01 and I got the dual stage reeds. I hope this helps.

Thanks Thomas
Is that kit the whole reed block and manifold or just the reeds? I'm looking for the full kit.

There are over 1000 members on the POG. Someone must have a GEM reed valve for my '75 250

David,

Nice to have met you at the RR, and bummer that you got bruised. GEM reeds never seem to exist when you're looking for them. I searched on and off for a year, lost out a couple times to $200+ bids on Ebay. Then out of the blue, a guy I race with says he has one he bought, never installed, and I could have it for the $100 he bought it for years ago. I later bought a Pen/KTM long distance on description and weak pics only...surprise, GEM reed installed.

No plans to let go of the ones I have, just suggesting you Keep the Faith! One will pop up when you least expect it. I even talked to a mold maker about getting set up to cast some if demand was enough--his bid for the molds alone was $3,000 then $100 or so each for machining, reed petals, etc. Fyi, if it's of interest, I put a copy of a '76 Dirt Bike magazine evaluation/how-to on GEM installation on the POG technical site. Interesting read. Good luck with it...Jon McLean, Lake Oswego, OR

David, I recently sold a 175 parts bike with a GEM on it. They were the same as the 250, except maybe the carb side, but you could cut the spigot off and weld back one for the 250 carb. I'm pretty sure the buyer was going to use another motor in it since it needed a complete rebuild. I don't think he cared about the reed setup and might sell it to you. Send me a private email and I'll send you his email address back.

I've bid and been outbid on the GEM reedvalve on ebay. Am I bidding against anyone on the list? I go under the same name on Ebay as well.
Contact me off list if you want to call me off.
