Title: 1st race on a Penton
Post by: rob w on November 29, 2004, 10:12:31 PM
Hi all, Let me try this out.
My first race on a Penton was in Oct. of 1971, my new '72 Six Day was only about 1 or 2 weeks old. I hung up the old Hodaka 100B+ in trade for a real race bike, boy was I pumped to be on a Penton. It was a MX race at "Old MacDonalds Snowmobile Farm" in Rothbury, Mich.. I know I placed 3rd. in that first race. Most importantly for me though, was that I felt hotter than Roger D. on that new Penton. All of the Penton motorcycle racers I knew at that time were very proud to be on the Penton brand, you could easily feel that, I never met a Penton rider in those days that did'nt love their bike. And the competition on other brands could sense our pride as well.

Bob, I agree. I switched a couple times, but always kept comming back after problems with the other bikes.
