In need of a Bing carb or main body for one of my Piners. Part
# on carb 2/30/101. Thanks, Dennis D
Dennis,
I had to look WAY down into the goodie bag, but I do
have a Bing Model 54 marked 2/30/101, drop a line and
let me know how much of it you need,
-don
Don, thanks for the reply. The main body, where the slide goes, is all I really need but will buy the whole carb if you want to sell it. After spending yesterday in the garage becoming "one" with my carb I am sure that the slide area is worn out causing a lean condition off of idle. Contact me off list if you like. Dennis D

Dennis, It's not that easy to wear the slide area of the carb out unless someone has allowed a lot of dirt into the area and did not clean it out right away. The slide on the Bing carb is the softest part of the two parts that wear. The slide will show signs of wear on the inlet side. Finding a new slide is sometimes dificult, But always expensive! If your going to use this carb you should find a new slide (your going to need one eventually anyway) and try it in your carb body to see just how much wear you have. then see if you need to find a new carb body. Try Bing international at //www.bingcarburetor.com. Good luck, G man.
Gavin, Thanks for the reply. All the parts in the carb are new including the slide. Don Roth supplied me with another carb. I endended up having to go to a 160 main to get it to run close to correct and will try a 165 to see if I can get the transition from mid to upper range a touch cleaner. The bike ran fine when I put the carb off of my "trailer queen" on it and it is jetted at 150. This is why I'm thinking that maybe the bore is a little worn. Used to have a bore gauge but loaned it years ago and have no idea who I loaned it to!!! He_ _ to get old... Dennis D
