Title: Shock Bushings
Post by: wfopete on January 24, 2005, 10:31:49 AM
Ok guys, I'm back from Iraq in one piece (mentally and physically) and ready to start on my Jackpiner project.:)  The shocks are toast (go figure!). Good shocks are big $, so I wanted to put on a pair of Works Performance I used on another bike. They are the same eye-to-eye length, but the bushings are different. Where can I source new bushings? I called WP Friday and left a message with engineering, but I have not heard back from them. Yes, AL B. has my Master Card on file!

Pete, your shox can be fixed, temporarily, with some rubber hose( automotive heater hose ), and some bushings from the hardware store. The bushings are carefully cut to width as is the hose and squeezed together into the shock with a press or a bench vise. Works shox use the same setup only they use clear polyurethane rubber. Works P. are hard to get a hold of sometimes. Welcome home.

Pete,
Oscar at WP redid my shocks last fall.  He should be able to fix you up.  Get the receptionist to page him, sometimes that works a little better.

  Good Luck and welcome back.
