I am attempting to remove my flywheel of a 76 KTM Motor....Does the nut thread off clockwise or counter clockwise? I don't want to damage anything and it seems stuck fast.
Chris
On my 6 Day it was clockwise to loosen.

Ditto on my 77 400....Reverse thread...seems like it takes a 14mm socket.
Thanks Guys,
Probably saved me from doing somthing damaging to my bike.
Chris
Just make sure you torque it back on to the proper specs.

Chakka;
Just as important as the nut torque, is the cleanliness of the flywheel bore and the crank taper. If there is dirt, grease or oil on the taper, you won't get the proper "lock" between the flywheel and the crank.

a little bit of scotch brite and elbow grease, make that surface shiny as new..
