Title: Seat Insignia
Post by: imported_n/a on November 03, 2005, 09:42:50 PM
POG, what determines whether the name on the back of the seat says "Penton" or "KTM Penton"? Is it the powerplant, chassis, ??? For correctness what should it be on my 74 Six Day, or does it even matter? Replacement seat cover needs stencil. Thx,

Chris Heeter

I have Steel Tanker seats three ways, KTM, Penton, and Penton KTM as original.  I really don't think it mattered.  When I do a seat, I only put Penton on them unless there is little or no room (mid 70's machines) and then I put KTM on them.  Randy K has some excellent stencils and decals too!  By the way, finish the seat before you stencil it, it turns out better!

Thanks guys for the replies! Think I'll go with PENTON!! p.s., just got my frame and pipe back from blast/coat, the color the guy used on the frame is "Bavarian Silver", how appropriate!!

Just to add a note, my 1969 Six Day didn't come with anything on the seat.
