Title: A thanks to Racer X?
Post by: Mike Lenz on November 08, 2005, 12:28:44 PM
I think it would be nice if an officer of POG would e mail Racer X and tell them we appreciate the old school Penton logo and Hi-Point tee shirts... and please show them by buying some! Their web site is //www.racerxill.com.  E mail is [email protected].  Also did you see that Metro Racing Penton ad in RacerX? What was that bike?? A modern 4 stroke KTM but with right side up forks?? Neat plastic!!

Mike,

I just checked out the shirts on the Racer X website and will fire off an email as you suggested, thanks for the heads up.

By the way, Racer X has a special section called Your Collection where you can send in pics of your moto-cross related collector items and win BIG prizes and get your items featured in the magazine.  This would be a great way to get some free exposure for our favorite brand of machine if anyone is interested.

Scott Wallenberg, a Factory Monark Racer from the "Day" is a big shot at Racer X. I think he is the Editor or something like that. You can read about him and other Monark stuff at:

Hello Penton Owners Group!
No I have never been a Penton rider but I sure had many battles with Penton riders during my time as a Monark rider. Anyway I just wanted to say Hi and thanks for any support you have given Racer X over the years. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] with any questions from back in the day or my Monark set-ups etc. I currently have 2 GS Pro Monarks. One has about 6 hours on it that is 99% original and I plan to keep it as a show only bike. The other that was featured in VMX is currently being re-restored as a runner.

Any midwest guys that rode with me at Elkhorn or Byron etc. Drop me a line too!  Take care, Scott

Despite the younger flair of RacerX, Davy Combs has a real soft spot in his heart for anything back in the day, so it's not too surprising that they're doing stuff with an old school flair.
