Title: leaky gas tank
Post by: chuck on December 07, 2005, 08:15:44 PM
I have a 1972 125 six day. The gas tank has started to leak at the botton of the tank on the seam just below the rivets. Any ideas on the best way to repair this.

thanks

Chuck

I haven't had to seal any of my Piner tanks but I have used a product made by caswells on my Ossa's and have been very happy with it so far. Hasn't been in the tank quite a year yet. They have a web site (doesn't almost everyone)? caswells.com I think. May have two s's in it. Dennis D

30 bucks and shipping. will do a 10 gallon tank. ...cool !!
I got this JP tank I drove a 2" branch through back in 78, riding on snow covered frozen terra ferma.
I managed to patch the big hole up, but the GD tanks  always leaked at the seams since the branch incident!!
I gotta try this stuff out,  it sure beats rivets I bet [xx(]
