Title: tech stuff
Post by: Dave Withrow on January 14, 2006, 10:19:20 PM
Hi all.  I've got a question about the amount of oil needed in 42mm Marzocchi(sp) forks.  In the past I've use the "6 inch rule".......take out the internals, collapse the fork all the way and fill to within 6 inches of the top.  Will that be enough?  Thanks for any advice.

If the forks are bottoming and you believe you have the correct weight oil, go to 5" from top.

Dwight,

Rule of thumb - what would probably be the correct weight oil for a 180lb rider, doing medium to hard rocky woods riding, with ocassional vintage motocross stuff ?

10wt.   I like 7.5wt but most will use 10wt.
