Title: Falk Rears on ebay
Post by: imported_n/a on February 16, 2006, 09:51:04 PM
POG, I'm eyeing one of those sharp Falk reproductions for GS models on ebay - 4612277477. Seller suggests that they might fit other Pentons with some minor modification. Can someone tell me how well, if at all, they'd fit a 74 Six Day? Would prefer not to have to start chopping on one though! Thx :)

Chris,
I installed one of these Falk repops on my 72 Berkshire. Had to do some trimming to make it fit but it wasn't all that bad. Turned out nice and looks good on the bike. Hope this helps !!

Fiberglass is nice, maintains its shape even when exposed to heat up to a point, it easy to paint and is repairable if not too badly damaged from a spill or contact, but the Plastic repro itmes that DC Plastics is making from NOS and original parts that I, and a few others have sent to Don to duplicate, offer an affordable alternative that are far more durable than fiberglass. I repair broken fiberglass on 63-72 Corvettes in my spare time. Mike

Thomas, I've ridden several enduros were I was so tired That I just plain ran right into what ever it was that I had fixated on. That tends to do a number on the front fender, not to mention the family jewls[xx(]. Gavin

Gavin, I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem of "target fixation". That's how I bent my 32 MM forks.

Chris,
That particular Falk/Hercules replica rear fender, does'nt fit the SixDay well at all. Though it works good on a '75 250 or 400. The difference and reason is, that fender has a flatter profile across the top, where it should have more of a hump to it. The rear frame loop is not bent up as high on the SixDay. So it does'nt hang at the correct angle, and there's a big gap between the top of the fender and the bottom of the seat.

Sorry for the delay in the response, hope I was'nt too late.
