Title: Washing Instructions
Post by: John Doud on February 20, 2006, 11:47:11 AM
I just washed a recently acquired bike and after I dried the bike, I took off the ignition cover and I was a little surprised to see rust, corrosion, oxidation, etc. to the ignition and the inside of the ignition cover. I have always removed the ignition covers on my bikes after washing them or getting them wet and then I spray the ignition with WD40 and let it air dry. I wondered how many other Penton owners actually remove their ignition covers after washing their bikes? It seems basic to me, but I am sure that other people may have forgotten this also.

After every ride that water is involved and after every wash with a pressure washer.

I still do that even on my modern bikes.
