Title: Clutch cover on Sachs engines 2 styles ?
Post by: kevin1971 on March 15, 2006, 07:04:06 AM
I have noticed the access hole for the clutch adjuster is located in 2 different positions.  Some have it directly under the H in Sachs.  Others have it slightly to the lower right edge of the H.  When did the change occur?  Any ideas?  Kevin

Kevin;
There are two models of clutch covers!  Early 68-69 which had a steel adjusting screw and very shallow ramps for the actuator.  The newer one has larger ramps and a different "cam cup" (actuator).  I never noticed the hole being moved, but have wondered why on some the adjusting screw was harder to get to.   Thanks for the info. have fun!
