Title: MC5 400 engine case paint?
Post by: robesetz on March 29, 2006, 08:46:41 PM
Hello all,
I was wondering if there are any special requirements for repainting my engine cases? Can I prime the cases first? The original paint is easily coming off as I'm cleaning the old grime with a clean dry rag. Is that normal or was it possibly repainted before? Thanks.

I've used PJ1 primer and PJ1 hi-temp barrel paint in silver. Looks pretty close to stock and holds up well. Still rubs off on sides where boots hit it and gets funky under the carb due to tickling, but otherwise looks decent.
