Was the sprocket carrier natural aluminum or was it painted?  If painted what color?  Thanks, Ted

Hi Ted,

The sprocket carrier is painted black, somewhere between matte and semi-gloss.

I've been merrily working on my '70 Six Day, 3 or 4 hours everyday for a week now. Even though I got this bike 4+ years ago, this is the first time I've gotten really involved with a Steel Tanker. Finding the nice alloy fenders is what got me moving on this project. I'm love'n it, it's exciting. Can't wait to share some pics with you.

Hi Bob,

I"m just starting to dig into my '70 Steeltanker, too.  Received some great advice from Carbaugh, and I'm pulling the 'wrench-time' trigger this week.  I'll be eager to swap 'progress pics' with you as we go.
