Title: Gas Mileage
Post by: chuck on May 02, 2006, 11:18:12 AM
Does anyone have an estimate on how many hours/minutes running time you can get on a full tank of gas on a 73 125 Six Days. Obviously, speed and conditions can effect.

Hope to see some of you Poggers in North Carolina this weekend.

thanks for the help,

Chuck

Your best bet is fill the tank, ride it until it's almost empty and gauge it from that. You may have to do it a couple of times, but it'll give a general idea.[^]

There are two important factors in the mileage of an off road machine: engine RPM and the gear useage. Whenever we were trying to stretch the fuel, we would try and shift up and lug the engine so it used less fuel. In my 12 years of competition, I did that enough times to know that it works.

The trail that you're riding on, will have an effect on which gear you have to use, but the higher gear that you use, the further you will travel in any specific gear.
