Title: AHRMA CC points
Post by: wfopete on June 27, 2006, 04:42:29 PM
I emailed AHRMA today about the cross country points standings. If you race the AHRMA cross country series, the points should be updated by tommorrow.

Marion was a no show for my class.  I missed the start on Saturday and I rode my butt off only to find that I was the only one in the class. Sunday Dennis Jones kept me honest but I don't know how I actually did.  Teddy (the Iron Man) Landers received the best prize: a beautiful bloody open flesh wound and stitches to go with it! He was beaming like a father with his first-born child.:)

ruh-ro. pete petrick is making a run at me trying to win the
ahrma C-C 200 inter class. tied me in points now.:( i'll be at walnut on my can-am (BOO! HISS!)trying to break the tie. i should be riding the penton 400 at mid-ohio mx tho. they need to find a close venue to mid-ohio to have a cross country. that is the only discipline of ahrma that is not represented at this event. road racers, flat trackers. trials, vmx, pvmx, everything but CC. anyone know an area where we can pursue having a cross country there? i live close enougth that i could help with it.  see everyone at vmd (except dane who can't make it)  chi jer

Hey Chigger,

Email Dave Lamberth and offer to help set up a CC for next year. I know there is a lot of AMA/AHRMA politics involved and the track is very demanding and has lots of regulations but maybe manpower is what is lacking.

hi teddy. if manpower is the issue. next year we will have a CC. i put on a harescramble at amherst meadowlarks which has nowhere near enough property to support one and have still managed to make it successful. many moons ago i used to be the trail boss for a 110 mile enduro. if the property is available i can lay out the course and i live close enough to be able to get there as many times as it would take. i'm not familiar enough with the surrounding properties to mid-ohio to know whats available. i looked at the mid-ohio's property with a CC in mind last year and realized that they may have some woods section but that its difficult to tie them together without having to disrupt traffic throughout the facility. if i could be allowed a little more access to look it over i could get a better feel for it. i will try to contact dave lamberth concerning this tomorrow. its a shame that in the heart of americas cross country region, the only discipline unrepresented at mid-ohio is the hare scramble guys.  to be continued....      chijer

hi again to all. i spoke to dave lamberth of ahrma and he stated that due to the trials course at mid-ohio being the best that ahrma offers that they will not run a cross country there and take the chance of ruining the trials. it seems to me that there must be someplace that could offer a cross-country/ hare-scramble course albeit off-site to the facility. since the dirt track is held in conjuction with vmd and is off-site, maybe we could do something similar for the CC guys. mansfield is pretty close but as i recall they are somewhat limited with acreage as is amherst meadowlarks. i may try to look into to this further if there seems to be interest. anyone out there know of any other property that is close to mid-ohio that could support a harescrambles? Maybe the AMA District 12/13 guys in Ohio have something nearby. Or we could all buy trials bikes and just before the trials start turn the trails course into a CC course.;) Sorry.

I wish we could have one here in S.C. I mean the GNCC has one why not AHRMA.
