Title: Bike Search
Post by: Kip Kern on July 20, 2006, 09:38:45 AM
To finish off my European collection of offroad bikes, I am looking for a white Ossa SDR, a Bultaco Alpina (Blue Silver), Puch 125/175 to restore. As complete as possible would be appreciated as I am not so well versed in the above.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Yes, I still have 11 Pentons, have not gone completely mad! ;) [email protected] CIAO

Kip,
Curtis Harper @ Harpers Moto-Guzzi 800-742-9735 has a friend who is planning on bringing a Puch enduro to M-O. I talked to him today before I read this post. I have a Puch engined Dalesman trials bike that could use your magic touch. There is a picture of one on AHRMA's M-O preview page.
See you at M-O

Hi Kip, I have what I believe to be a white 1973 OSSA SDR. It ran the last time I started it. The front fender is missing and the back fender is broken, other than that I believe it's complete. I also have (orange/black) OSSA Pioneers. If you are interested you can contact me at [email protected].

Kip,
You may have seen this listing this morning, but there is a '73 SDR on Ebay, #170010284482. It appears to be fairly complete, and I believe it is in New York.

Hopefully not because this is one of the few diseases I am happy to have, and besides, you can always charge admission.

Kip,

For what it is worth, regarding the eBay 170010284482 bike, I looked at the photos and it appears very complete.  I meagerly campaigned one (in fact I rode 3 of them) of these for a while back in the 70's and the biggest problem was the plastic fractures from vibration/falling and the expansion chamber falling off at the rubber mounts.
I could see no major evidence of these problems on the above bike.  I would guess that this bike saw very little use, since there is no paint rubbed off, the odometer is still mounted with the rubber o-ring in the bracket, this usually only lasted a short time.
I have no affilation or knowledge of the seller.

Tony

Kip,Your info/email has been passed on to the guy with the bikes.Hopefully he has already emailed you and you have first dibs on those 2 bikes. He held a jackpiner for me after i had just inquired about it,so he's pretty good about doing that. His website is vintageracingmotorcycle.com and he has about 80 bikes for sale, some pretty nice ones too,if anyone else wants to check it out.Just please don't buy those out from underneath Kip if he wants them-OK?!

Ric,  Checked out the site and wow, what a collection!  Prices seem very reasonable for what is available.  Tony, thanks for the overview of the SDR, if I get one, it will probably only be run on occasion and sit in the display looking pretty.  Thanks to all who helped out, so far I have purchased one Puch, looking at another, and one Alpina, still checking on a few SDR's.  My wife sits here just shaking her head!  Is this a good sign?[}:)]
