Hi POGgers
Can any of you tell me for sure if this is a 78 MC5 tank or if not can you tell me what it is?

Thanks millions

Hi Chris,
I would love to, but there are no pictures. All I see are little boxes with a Red X in them.

Hmmm, I see the pictures on my screen but that probably explains why no ones answered. Must have done something wrong :D

I'll try and email them to you Donny if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks
Chris.

Chris,
It looks to be a 75-76 Penton Mint 400 tank.

Chris,
That is a 78 MC5 tank, just missing the decals. You can tell by the tab that sticks out of the back edge of the tank and is held to the frame by a "U" shaped thick rubber retainer. All of the MC5 tanks have that same tab, but the left hand petcock on the 76-77 tanks is more rearward and makes the petcock too close to use a Torque pipe like the 78 MC5 has. I have both style of tanks, including the larger Desert style tanks, also with the same tab at the rear of the tank. I hope this helps. Mike

Thanks Mike, I was looking at the pictures you had already sent me and I just couldn't make out wether or not the petcock was far enough forward for a 78 or not.

Thanks again
Cheers
Chris.

Is fiberglass tanks can be painted? Some special paint required?

Thanks,

Andrew
