One of the most unique characteristics of a good tamale, is it's innocent nature. Can be cooked in many ways, the core ingredients have always been there. The smells, when wafting thru the kitchen, would serve to remind, how simple, the delicacies in life present themselves. What would make you purchase a tamale? Perhaps the vendor, found @ the local liquor store, or an open market, where, in open, he displays his wares.

Tom,Ah yes,do i sense a mexican food theme bike coming on????? HOT TAMALE.......An off topic story.In 1977 the nite before the Baja 1000 there was an unauthorized pre race festivity at Hussongs Cantina in Ensenada.All the factory Husky guys were there,Jack Johnson,Larry Roeseler,Scott Hardin,etc.,along with a host of other off road heavies.Around 10 pm i started thinking about heading back to the trailer park room on the beach we had rented.Seeing as how i would be starting the race at dawn i thought it wise to catch some zzzzzz's and get out of there early.Aparrently Team Husky thought that would be a good idea too,as they had some federales come in and escort their guys out of the bar.We had been sippin' magaritas and running back and forth between hussongs and the taco stand across the street.Bill Bogner won the taco eating contest with 22 tacos and many magaritas consumed.He led the race for a bit the next day, but dnf'ed.We did ok,running 3rd 125 most of the day,but i did have an unscheduled pit coming down from Mike's Sky Ranch as the taco's caught up with me and i couldn't hold it any longer.Used part of the course map for t.p...We ended up 7th 125 after losing our lites at night and going the wrong way after the ribbon going back into ensenada had been swapped to send gringo's the wrong way.At least we finished and ended up back at Hussong's for more the next nite.Bogner said his bike broke,but i wonder if it was the tacos.................Adios,Ric

I am not sure I resemble a tamale, other than I have been accused of being corny and I do love a good Mexican meal. In fact I had :DChile Colorado's today for lunch. which is my new favorite. And then there is Chile relleno. A chile wrapped in a egg batter and then baked with lots of cheeze... hmmm good. What did I do with the left overs?
