Joel Robert Replica - SIDI

Yep, I bought a pair of these boots after facing the wrath of none other than Dwight Rudder, he of 7 x ISDT/E medalist fame.  A couple of years ago at Mid-Ohio after I complained bitterly about my new $300.00 while Garne SG10 MX boots Dwighty let go with a verbal fusilade against wearing PLASTIC boots when riding VINTAGE events.

I have learned another lesson from Dwight and his years of experience riding dirt bikes.  I absolutely love the way they feel with their top-grain Italian leather and they look fabulous too.  The only drawback to these boots is they're sort-of a two person boot.  One to put the boot on and the other to stretch the straps enough to be able to buckle them.  Other than that I can't say enough good things about them.

I searched and searched the internet to see if anyone would discount the boot from the $250 retail price, but no one did.  However, I did find one place who I can recommend who offers FREE shipping.  http://www.extremestreet.com/sidiboots/joelrobert.htm

Is there really any other boot than Hi Points?

I believe he is talking about currently available boots.  HiPoint is no longer being sold.  They do have the Alpinestar Victory boot in Europe but not in the USA.  The Joel Robert boot by SIDI is a replica of the old FULL BORE boot.

In the process of looking for Hi Points, I wound up with the Replicas. It may take time to hook 12 buckles but they don't come loose either. Don't even realize I'm wearing boots.
If anyone is looking for Hi Points in size 10 black, I know where there was a pair last June. Keep in mind the older size 10 was larger, which is why I didn't buy them.

I was actually talking about the vintage Hi Point boots. I have a pair of circa 1976 or so boots that I wear with my real leathers as part of my vintage racing gear. You can get the Alpine Stars versions from Vintage Iron and off ebay. My first real pair of boots were Full Bore smooth soled versions. They were a good boot for the time. The only words of caution I have is regarding a seam on the front flap of the boot. This seam is located behing the center white stripe. On my bikes, I ended up eating into the strip and ripping this seam because of contact with footpeg while kicking over bike. It was a very common scene to see the kickstarter side boot have a patch sewn over that area of the boot.
