Title: What size hex wrench(s)?
Post by: Steve Minor on September 21, 2001, 07:11:58 PM
What size hex wrench fits the head bolts on a 1977 400 GS6? Also, what varity of wrenches and hex wrenches should I have on hand to stip this 77 400 GS6? Any "special" tools? I plan to send the motor off for a rebuild so that won't come into play. I'm not looking for a "showroom" restoration but rather a fun bike....strip, replace needed parts, touch up paint....etc

Thanks
Steve

The large bolts are a 10mm. Get one that fits the end of your torque wrench, that way you'll be able to re-torque it. I think the smaller ones are 8.
10,13,&17mm wrenches and sockets will just about rebuild one.

Chris, thanks for the help. I'm sure I'll be calling on you and others again in the future and any advice is much appreciated.
